Jackie Evancho Information

Jackie Evancho is an American classical crossover singer from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Jackie, born April 9, 2000, gained recognition at a very young age. In 2008 she entered many talent competitions, singing appearances, sparked interest on YouTube and even issued an independent album entitled "Prelude to a Dream." In 2010 she competed on the fifth season of America's Got Talent and finished in second place.

During the 2010 holiday season she released her "O Holy Night" EP. This song made her became the youngest solo artist ever to go platinum, the best-selling debut artist of 2010 and the youngest top-ten debut artist in U.S. history. Also during this season Jackie performed at the 2010 National Christmas Tree lighting in Washington, D.C. in front of U.S. President Barack Obama.

Her first full-length major label album was released in June 2011. Entitled, "Dream With Me," the album debuted at No. 2 on the American album charts. With it she also became the youngest top-five debut artist in UK history. She was ranked the top Classical Albums Artist for 2011 by Billboard and has made two solo appearances on PBS television series, "Great Performances."

In addition to her musical talent, Evancho is also the ambassador for a humane society that encourages children to help protect animals called Mission: Humane. She was listed as one of the "ten best-mannered people of 2011" by a national cotillion organization.

Right now in 2012 she is touring the U.S. In her tour she will perform songs from her most recent album, "Songs from the Silver Screen."
