Alanis Morissette Information

Alanis Morissette was born on June 1, 1974 in Ontario, Canada. She has duel citizenship in Canada and the United States, and is a well known singer, songwriter, and record producer in both countries. Her career began in Canada, and as a teenager she recorded two dance-pop albums, Alanis and Now Is the Time, under MCA Records. Her global debut album was the rock-influenced Jagged Little Pill, which to date is the best-selling debut album by a female artist in the U.S., and the highest selling debut album worldwide in music history. Morissette has won twelve Juno Awards and seven Grammy Awards, and has sold more than forty million albums worldwide. She has also appeared in a few motion pictures and television shows including Dogma, Sex and the City, Nip/Tuck, and Curb Your Enthusiasm.
